APT children artists, MAYA PARANI and NICOLE GONZALEZ have been with APT for seven years, since early age of 4. They were both on APT scholarships because of their significant creative contributions to our theatre. Maya has been diagnosed with DYSLEXIA and Nicole with PANIC ATTACS.  These learning disabilities were a big part of their bonding experience at APT. Nicole recently admitted that APT helped her "get out of her shell". "I am not so desperately shy any more", she said gratefully, and for Maya, APT  has been a wonderful confidence builder as well as a great place to develop all of her artistic talents. She found a great joy in costume design, sculpture, set design, video and acting.

They both appeared in APT's first production of 'TADPOLES FOR PEACE" at Discovery green as magic fairies. After that they were regular APT  actors as well as younger actor's coaches.  They were also essential at our monthly FAMILY BAND JAM sessions as instrumentalists and vocalists.

It is a fantastic experience to be able to help kids grow together as young artists by opening their eyes to so many creative possibilities in the arts. At APT Nicole is learning piano, voice, performance, songwriting, community leadership and Maya's interests are stronger in visual arts workshops.

This year, 2015/2016 director Loreta Kovacic is working in public schools, bringing musical theatre to our bilingual communities in Houston inner city.

Maya makes great little clay sculptures that she calls Clay-Z. You can buy them at CRAFTIDOTE in early December. This year it will be on December 3rd in front of ANTIDOTE. Come and get them! They are great.
